Sync your locations automatically with the API

Push locations into Store Locator from your CRM, ERP or your own database instead of importing a file.

If your locations live somewhere else, in a CRM like Salesforce, an ERP, a dealer portal or your own database, you can push them into Store Locator automatically instead of importing a file every time something changes.

The API is part of the Pro plan and above. You also need someone technical on your side, or the agency that looks after your systems, to connect it.

The API access screen is currently available in the Shopify admin.

Step 1: create a key

Open Settings and then API access. Click Create key and give it a name that says where it will be used, for example Salesforce sync.

The key is shown once. Copy it straight away and store it the way you store passwords. If you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.

Step 2: hand it to your developer

Send them the key and the technical documentation: sl-app.proguscommerce.com/docs/api. It has every endpoint, ready to run examples and an OpenAPI file they can import.

What the integration can do

  • Create, update and delete locations, including custom fields, tags and opening hours.

  • Send a whole batch at once, which is how the first load of a large dealer network is done.

  • Keep your own record ids on our side, so the next sync updates the same location instead of creating a duplicate.

  • Leave the coordinates to us. Send an address and the map position is worked out for you.

Keeping the key safe

A key belongs to one shop and gives full access to its locations, so treat it as a password. Use a separate key for each integration and revoke the one you no longer need, which does not affect the others.

If your plan drops below Pro, the keys stop working until you upgrade again. Nothing is deleted, the locations stay exactly as they are.
