Tag categories and how dealers pick them

Group your tags into categories and give each category a name and a priority that sets its place in the list.

Tags are the filters a shopper uses on your map. Once you have more than a handful, categories are what stop them being one long undifferentiated list: Brand, Services, Type of store, each with its own tags underneath.

Where the settings are

All of it lives under Settings → Tags, in four cards: the tags themselves, the categories, how they behave on the map, and what the dealer form demands.

Naming and ordering categories

Open a category to set its name and a priority number, which controls where it sits in the list relative to the other categories.

How much you demand on the form

Like any other field, tags can be marked required on the dealer form. When it is, a dealer has to pick at least one tag before the form can be submitted.

How tags behave on the map

The other two cards on the page are about shoppers rather than dealers. Tags design chooses whether filters appear as checkboxes, as a select field, or not at all. Tags behaviour chooses what several ticked filters mean: OR shows locations with at least one of them, AND shows only locations with all of them.

What to do next

  • The embed code can also limit a map to certain tags, and control the filter bar separately, on Settings then Installation.

  • Assigning tags to existing locations in bulk is the Add/remove tags action on the Locations page.
