Opening hours are the detail shoppers check before they get in the car, so it is worth getting them into a shape the app understands rather than a paragraph of text.
The two formats
The opening hours editor on a location has two tabs:
Structured schedule: a row per day with an opening and a closing time, or Closed all day, plus a timezone for the store. This is the one that lets the app show hours consistently and format them to your preference.
Free text: whatever you type, shown as you typed it. Fine for "By appointment only" or hours too irregular to fit a grid.
Pick the timezone before you start filling in a structured schedule; the editor asks for it first. It is what keeps a store in another country honest.
Switching between them
You can move a location from one format to the other, and the app is explicit about what that costs. Converting a structured schedule turns it into editable plain text. Discarding structured edits restores the free text you had before, which is empty if there never was any. Until you actually edit a slot, saving leaves your existing free text alone.
24-hour or AM/PM
A structured schedule shows times exactly as you entered them in the open and close fields, for example 09:00 - 17:00. There is no shop-wide setting to switch locations to AM/PM. Hours typed as free text are shown exactly as written, whatever format that is.
What to do next
Importing hours from a spreadsheet? The bulk import and the export both carry a column per day plus a timezone column, so a structured schedule survives a round trip.
Letting dealers keep their own hours current is what "Dealer self-edit links" is for.
