Ask dealers to agree before they submit

Add a consent checkbox to the dealer form, with your own wording and a link to your policy, so nobody is listed without agreeing to it.

A dealer form collects a business name, an address, a phone number and often a personal email, and then publishes most of it on your storefront. The consent checkbox is where the dealer agrees to that, in your words, before they can send anything.

Switch it on

 1. This is not a built-in setting yet. Open the chat in the bottom right corner and we will help you add a consent step to your dealer form.

There is no consent field or checkbox configuration in the dealer form settings.

Linking to your policy

The dealer form settings do not include a consent field that accepts HTML. The following is an example of wording to discuss with the team:

I agree that the details above may be published on the store locator and that the privacy policy applies.

Writing the wording

 • Say what is published. A dealer who did not realise their phone number goes on a public map is a complaint waiting to happen.

 • Say who to contact to be removed, or link to the page that does.

 • Keep it to a sentence or two. A checkbox label is not the place for the policy itself, only the agreement to it.

 • If you sell in the EU or the UK, this is worth showing your own legal advisor rather than copying ours.

What to do next

 • The rest of what the form asks for is set on the same page, under Form fields.

 • Dealers keeping their own listing up to date? "Dealer self-edit links" uses the same form, so the same consent text applies.

Stuck on any of this? Open the chat in the bottom right corner of the app and we will help you set it up.
