Send store locator events to Google Tag Manager

Copy the listener from the Installation page into Google Tag Manager so searches, clicks and filter changes on your map reach your tags.

Store Locator can pass map interactions, such as a search or a click on a location, to your Google Tag Manager (GTM) container. You set it up once with a short listener snippet.

Before you start

  • You need a GTM container on your site. The snippet only pushes events to the dataLayer, so there is nothing to set up if you do not use GTM.

  • The Installation page is available on every platform and plan.

Step 1: Open the Installation page

In Store Locator, open Settings → Installation.

Step 2: Show the guide

On that page, click Show GTM setup guide.

Step 3: Copy the listener

Under Parent-page listener, click Copy.

Step 4: Add it to GTM

In Google Tag Manager, create a Custom HTML tag, paste the listener and trigger it on All Pages. Publish the container.

Step 5: Create a trigger for the events

Create a Custom Event trigger with the event name matching the regular expression ^psl_.*. Every event arrives with the psl_ prefix, for example psl_search_submit.

What to do next

Stuck on any of this? Open the chat in the bottom right corner of the app and we will help you set it up.
