How do I translate the new look's map text?

The Languages tab of the new look: the built-in languages of the map text, writing your own wording per language, and translating the dealer form, custom fields, tags, categories and groups.

This article is about the new look. Every word the map draws can be reworded per language in Settings → Languages.

Step 1: Pick the language

Choose the language at the top of the page. The map shows the language of the storefront page it is on.

Step 2: Reword the map text

The Map text tab holds the built-in wording, in groups: Search bar, Customer location, Search radius, Location list, Filters, Location details, Favourites, Opening hours, Products, and Empty states and errors. Change any field and save.

The map includes built-in text in 55 languages. For a language it does not include, the card says so, and customers see English unless you write your own wording below.

If you switched from the classic look, the texts you had written there were copied over, so nothing is lost.

Step 3: Translate your own names

The other tabs translate what you created yourself, per language: Dealer form (its labels and messages), Custom fields (their names and buttons), Tags, Tag categories and Groups.

The floating map button

The title and colours of the floating map button are set in the theme editor, from Publish → Floating map button, and translated in your translation app, such as Translate & Adapt.

What to do next

Changing which fields a location shows is in Location content: What shows in a location's details on the new look?

Stuck on any of this? Open the chat in the bottom right corner of the app and we will help you set it up.
