Installing Progus Store Locator on Your Shopify Store

What happens when you install the app, what it sets up for you, and the three things left to decide before shoppers can use the map.

Installing takes a couple of clicks, and the app does most of the first-time setup itself. What is left is choosing how the map looks, getting your locations in, and putting it somewhere shoppers will see it.

Install it

  1. Open the Progus Store Locator listing on the Shopify App Store and click Install.
  2. Approve the permissions Shopify asks for. They are what let the app read your shop and create the page below.
  3. You land on the app dashboard when it is done.

What the app sets up for you

  • A store locator page on your shop, with the map already on it. Its address is shown on the app dashboard.

  • A default map style, so the map is not blank while you decide what it should look like.

  • A "Setup guide" checklist on the dashboard, which walks you through installing the map, adding your first location and customizing the map.

The three things left to you

  1. Pick a map style. Five providers and a long list of styles. Google and MapBox need an API key of your own; the others do not.
  2. Add your locations. One by one, as a bulk CSV import, or by connecting a Google Sheet that keeps itself in step.
  3. Put the locator where shoppers will find it. The page is created but not linked from your menus, and the floating button is off until you switch it on.

None of it has to happen in one sitting, and none of it is permanent. If you would rather not do it at all, the "Need help?" card on the dashboard has a Live Chat link to our team.

What to do next

  • "Integrating store locator in your Shopify store: 3 methods" covers the three ways to show the map.

  • "Adding a store locator page to your shopify menu" is the smallest useful next step.

  • "How to add a location?" if you are entering your first store by hand.

Stuck on any of this? Open the chat in the bottom right corner of the app and we will help you set it up.
